Has multiple points that feel like the plot is approaching a resolution, but there are still so many pages left in the book, and so the progress of the arc gets scrapped in favour of a new arc that is only tangentially connected to the plot so far;
Breaking it up into a series of 2-3 novels might have improved the pacing
