when you consider how orwell has ratted out gays and commies to the british government, is very racist in his description of the only character of color in the book, and makes his 2 main characters (yes including julia) very misogynistic, a lot of the message is lost in hypocrisy. also includes the very lazy 'book within a book' method in order to fully & explicitly develop his political viewpoint. also it's several pages long. tldr; this book is ass and took me months to finish
