Wow – this one was even more emotional than the first one!
I had a harder time with Layla in this book as I knew how badly she was hurting from everything that went down with both her dad and Nico, so I knew that her dating Giancarlo was a mistake. I was yelling at her in the book as I never trusted the guy but at the same time I felt that she had just got to a place where she was almost numb with everything that she had lost. He was so controlling and jealous, but I didn’t know if she would be able to escape.
I was mad at Nico in this book for hooking up with Jessie as I knew he was just using her for sex, but I could also tell that she wanted so much more from him and I was so mad at the beach incident. I understood why Nico was reluctant to say anything to Layla about the FDNY as I knew it would backfire on him, but I was very proud of him for trying again.
The phone call was OMG!! I was so scared for what would happen next and I was definitely on the right track for what happened and I was glad that people got there in time.
I was super sad with the collapse of the relationship between Quinn and Layla and I really wish we could have had something from Quinn’s side to understand why she did what she did.
The ending had me a little worried but I knew Nico was not going to give up and was ready for Layla whenever she was ready.
I look forward to more from this author!
