In general I am a Brontë fan, and I loved Jane Eyre and Emma, and was excited to read this book.
Unfortunately it was clear to me why this is not a more popular Brontë Book.
Is it because the protagonist was a man? I don't know.
I'm not saying that a woman can not write a story from a mans perspective. I'm just saying in my opinion Charlotte just didn't do a very good job.
I don't know. I'm so torn about this book.
I mean they can't all be hits right?
This was Charlotte Brontë's first book yet it was not published until after her death. Maybe she knew she had better stories in her.
