The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

5.0

I am stumped. Seriously, I don't know how to review this astonishing book. It's not just a book, it's a universe in itself. Offred's traumatic universe. Though it took a few pages for me to get the grip of the story, nothing was stopping me after that.

There's poetry, there's cringe, and there's a ray of hope running through all the pages. Atwood's dazzling prose would take you on a ride. Imagine a world where women are used just for breeding purposes? Of course, still, there are villages where reproduction seems to be the only aim of the people.

I have nothing more to say about this book. You have to read this to know how bone-deep a narrator's account of her life can get.
