Natchez Burning by Greg Iles

4.0

Set in modern day Mississippi, but dealing with events that occurred during the height of the KKK’s campaign of racial terror in the 60s, this is an absorbing crime/legal/thriller. At 800 pages, it was quite a read. The ending, for me, was disappointing, though, as some of the action scenes lacked credibility & much of the mystery remained unresolved. But all in all, well worth reading.
