This took me so long to read only because I keep wanting to set aside time where I could just sit down and devour it (possibly in a single sitting). The reality is that this is no longer possible with young children in the family; much as I love my kids, this saddens me lol. It was a bit stop and start for the first half but I did manage to read the last half in one sitting so I enjoyed the last half a lot more than the first.

One of the things you're really excited about is when the love interests first meet in the book. This happened very quickly in this book, pretty much right at the beginning. However, it took them quite a while to actually sort things through so that was a little bit on the slow side for me. The mystery they were keen to solve was also slow going until suddenly everything just sort of peaked at the end. I guess what I enjoyed about the book was just that it's such a chill read; relaxing and very touching in some parts (yes, I shed some tears too).

I have to admit that I've not been following this series but I'm now keen to read the earlier books. I love the setting and I especially love Bundy, the matchmaking dog! I am hoping to see Brenna in the next instalment though there are a few other potentials.

My thanks to Harlequin Australia for gifting me a copy of this book. Thoughts are mine own.
