In the Shadow of the House of God by Jeffrey G. Roberts
3.0
What is it about?
God and the Devil make a dangerous wager to determine once and for all if humanity is good or evil.
Was it good?
This is a short book that felt well researched. All of the characters were unique. I was fascinated with the descriptions of all the different religions.
And yet, I was disappointed by God. (Don't smite me!) I expected some underhanded shenanigans from the Devil, but I really feel like God cheated on this bet. I would have liked to see the same ending come about more naturally.
