The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kasie West
2.0
Me: I love the fake dating trope!
This book: then you might like—
Me: no, not like that
I am BORED. I'M SORRY.
I still have no idea what this book was about and, if you want to have a central trope in your book, you need to let your characters stand on their own without it being their only defining trait, if it makes sense. SO, Hayden's only purpose was to be fill-in Bradley, Bradley was just kind of there to be a "plot twist" I didn't particularly cared about and yawned my way through, Jules was there to be mean, Gia had such a hard life — I mean, she's smart, has loving parents, but didn't win prom queen, and that's just so sad, guys.
