Maximum Ride: The Manga, Vol. 1, by James Patterson

5.0

I eat this stuff up. Manga is so fascinating to me. I think I'd like nearly anything I could read in this style simply because of the storytelling itself. The close-ups, the facial expressions, the snapshots—it's like making a living, moving story out of a hundred still-life moments. And NaRae Lee killed it with this one.
I love the story idea too, though—it's probably something I'd pick up in prose format as well. It's the whole "lab experiment kids escape" idea, and those stories always have so much tense action and emotion. Recreating it as a graphic novel makes it even better.
I'm itching to get my hands on the next one.
