A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks

4.0

I had great expectations from this book. It has been recommended to be by many people and I was waiting for more than 6 years to9 find someone who could lend me a copy. But everyone I knew had lent it to some friend who had lost it; so I missed that chance. I finally bought my own copy last month.

I got around to reading it today because there was no electricity and my brother had reserved the laptop before I could get my hands on it. The reading was easy and I had read 78 pages before I knew.

The book was good, but I did not enjoy it that much. perhaps, "enjoy" is the wrong word; I did not find the roller-coaster emotional ride that Sparks promises in the prelude:

"First you will smile, and then you will cry -- don't say you haven't been warned..."

I loved "The Notebook" and I was expecting that this one would be even better; but perhaps I had build up too much hype about the book :(
It was still a good read though, a very touching story and that is the reason why I still give it four stars!
