A Lot like Love by Julie James

5.0

Now, *this* was what I wanted from this series. I love Jordan's determination and her quick thinking (and that she's not perfect at her endeavors); I liked Nick a lot, and I loved the side characters. This one also felt much more situated in its setting--both Chicago and Napa Valley leapt off the page much more. (I live in one and visited the other.)

I also really liked the antagonist and the non-romance part of the plot--it was solidly done, nobody was a mustache-twirling cardboard cutout, and even knowing that the genre contract promised it would be okay, I definitely worried a little there at the end, which is just saying great things about this book, I think.
