First of all: a boyfie like Warner and a bestie like Kenji—yes, please.
But dang, I finished it. I finished it. And it’s not enough. I get why more books were released after it—it’s just not enough.
I loved watching Juliette grow through it all and see her story with Warner unfold—why they make more sense than she and Adam ever could. It was an ambitious move from Tahereh Mafi to pull the rug considering how there were very little moments of Juliette and Warner (compared to her and Adam) in Shatter Me, but it all came to a close here and I love that everything still made sense and that it didn’t feel like a mere PR move. Some revelations felt a bit far-fetched to me at first, but are actually consistent when cross-referenced with the previous books, so kudos to author’s foresight.
It was lighter than I expected and a bit more fast-paced compared to my usual trilogy reads. I feel like a lot of parts were sped through (or maybe I just read too fast), but all in all, I still love it.
