Space-Western romance. Short but the characters were developed enough for me to enjoy their romance, in all its whirlwind, mail-order bride glory.
Found it on my ereader and apparently have read it before, but my memories were totally faulty -- I was on guard for gritty but it was delightfully sweet in just the way I needed. Both Louise/Jo and Adam are well-meaning people with traumatic backstories, Adam has a strong circle of friends, the villain just pops out of nowhere (so no villain POV, yay!), the ending was... not always my favorite style but it suited the story.
