Sleeping Handsome and the Princess Engineer by Kay Woodward, Jo de Ruiter

5.0

I recieved a free copy of this book by the book's publishers via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a lovely, sweet short story which has a much better ending than I originally anticipated too! It's definitely an alternative version of the original tale ‘Sleeping Beauty’. It's funny a intriguing story which features the 'handsome' Prince Jack who has been cursed to die, along with all of his people if he touches anything pointy by Prime Minister Nonsense. The castle magician, changes the spell slightly so people wouldn't die but instead fall asleep. You’ll have to read the rest to find out what happens!

It's an enchanting version of Sleeping Beauty that children are bound to enjoy! Completely different and unique whilst remaining just as enjoyable, if not more so, than the original story, With a strong female heroine, this would be a great bedtime story as it's a great laugh and entertaining story for children.
