White Sand, Volume 1 by Brandon Sanderson, Rik Hoskin

I'm so happy. I loved this and I want more. I'll admit, I'm generally prejudiced in favor of Sanderson's work, but I don't think that's a bad thing because his work basically is that good.

So, this had everything I want from a Sanderson story - complex magic, good characters, a rich story, a large world. Because of the format, it isn't the same as reading a Sanderson novel, but so much of it feels like his work, and it is fairly text heavy which isn't always a good thing, but in this case I liked it.

There was obviously a good team of people that made thjs happen. The art is good and complements the story well. There are a few details and moments that are abrupt or feel under-explained, but that's a minor issue in the end. I have no real complaints and now I have to wait for book 2.
