This was not exactly what I expected. I enjoyed it, it was entertaining in the way a celebrity memoir or reality tv is. You get sucked into the drama. It was billed as a thriller, and honestly only the last few pages had an thriller type activity. It was more of a “not so cozy” mystery than a thriller for me.
If you enjoy the celebrity life and a younger vibe (social media, hashtags, etc) with a mystery around an assumed accidental OD, this is for you.
There’s a large social issue at play, race and assumptions by the police, assumptions about addiction, family relationships.
