Girl, Interrupted, by Susanna Kaysen

Girl, Interrupted is an amazing memoir, and popular for good reason. The writing is witty with a humorous bite, showcasing Kaysen’s true craft for story telling. Another aspect which fascinated me was that although this can now be read a historical work (a more modern classic possibly?), remnants of the girl’s experiment could still resonate with readers today.
It is an older memoir, which might be something to keep in mind if you are thinking about picking Girl, Interrupted up.
Overall, Kaysen is a smart, vulnerable, and raw writer, and I cannot wait to pick up more of her fiction and nonfiction catalog.
