Spinning Silver, by Naomi Novik

It was as though I'd made a wish to some bad fairy for a customer who'd always pay his debts exactly on time.
This story starts with Miryem, the moneylender's daughter, who was so good at taking over her father's job that she attracted a Staryk, someone who lived in a realm that was always cold. We also have a cursed tsar and unattractive tsarina in the story. We'll see the role of gold and silver, hot and cold, in these different but connected worlds.
This story had different POVs and while some worked out, there was one that really bothered me. All in all though, this was a great story.
