Doctor Who: The Third Doctor, Vol. 1: The Heralds of Destruction by Paul Cornell, Christopher Jones

5.0

I just finished hanging out with my fellow Whovian Androgums this weekend where we consumed many of the Doctor's adventures (in various regenerations) including: Enemy of the World. (That tidbit of information will connect to my review shortly. Promise).

In starting this graphic novel, I was expecting to see the 3rd Doctor in all his glory, UNIT, Brigadier, Jo, Mike, Benton (and yes, even Delgado's Master), and I was not disappointed! I easily slipped into their world as if I was watching their era of Doctor Who on the television. What I was not expecting but loved just the same was the nods to The Three Doctors and to Osgood from The Daemons (and also a relative of the contemporary Petronella Osgood). The moment Osgood took out his inhaler...ahhh...memories!

And then Paul Cornell and Christopher Jones went above and beyond and brought back Salamander!!! I was in Whovian heaven completely nerding out with glee! Cornell and Jones brought the classic 70s era to life, and I loved every minute of it! I know I'm gushing, but it cannot be helped!
