What Love Can Do by Katharine Hope Levy

Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
I do love a small-town romance and was excited to read this one! Though Jennifer and Matt were cute, there were too many things that pulled me out of the story as I read about them.

This book had no plot. I don’t mind a book with light plot that is heavy on character development, but I’m not joking when I say the plot was bare minimum. The two main characters are just two people with the most standard, basic love story of all time.

The initial descriptions of characters were like reading a police description (exact height, build, hair color, eye color, etc.) and the later descriptions were also a bit odd to me (lots of comments on hairy forearms and hairy legs).

I just feel this book could have been much better if there had been some editing to eliminate repetitiveness and to present description in a less staccato way.

Overall, the writing style felt very Hallmark fanfic.

I would still recommend for someone who doesn’t care so much about plot, description, and repetitiveness but would like to read pure romance from start to finish.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC!
