genuinely think this book changed the chemistry in my brain. bizarrely funny at times and horrifying at others, it struck a masterful balance between enjoying reading it and being disgusted to the point of covering my mouth (mackenzie and sophie will live in my brain for a minute). 

i read it in the space of two days and am already eagerly awaiting gretchen's next book cuckoo, can't wait to read more gross horror!
