Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll

Did not finish book. Stopped at 37%.
I rarely DNF books, but this book was far too dark, racist, misogynistic, and fatphobic for me to continue reading. There are many triggers for this book that I would recommend considering before you read it. Worse, I don't believe that the author has any ability to spot how terrible the behavior of her main and supporting characters are. The main character herself is shallow and, frankly, a terrible person. Although this could work in the novel's interest, pitting our dislike for the character against the awful happenings that created such a person, the author is overall unsuccessful.

While I tried to give grace because it is inspired by the rape of author, I finally stopped when the author uses a variation of the n-word to describe people of Middle Eastern descent. Overall, I made it about 40% of the way through the book and just couldn't see it through. Ironically, I do believe that the book is a perfect representation of white supremacy and patriarchal societies, although not in the way the author intended.
