This is book one in a series of seven. The author's previous books were called bodice-rippers, and this books contains some extra-steamy elements too. But the story arch to this series is much more encompassing than its romantic matches.
A wealthy man travels the world and ends up adopting seven different daughters. The sisters are raised on an island in Switzerland where entry to the home and grounds is accessed by boat. Housekeeper XXxx, is a surrogate mother/nanny to the sisters.
This book is about Sister Number One -- the only child who has not left the family home. However, when her father dies suddenly, and his attorney calls them together to discuss their inheritance, new questions arise.
