I went from thinking Tris was a badass in Divergent to finding her terribly whiny, self-centered, and annoying in Insurgent.
Also, this book was all over the place! I understand that most of those things had to happen to give context for things that came later, but it was like, "Now we're here! Let's go there! This guy's here! No, wait, he's dead!" It felt like there was too much packed into one book. I don't know how they're going to pare that down for the movie.
I ultimately gave it 4 stars because, though there were many clues that helped me figure out the ending along the way, such that it wasn't all that surprising, the twist at the end I did not see coming and of course it made me eager to keep reading and see how it all plays out.
