The Music of the Deep by Elizabeth Hall

3.0

Music of the Deep is a story of Alex fleeing an abusive marriage, a story of ghosts, and a story of the haunted past of the lives of the people living in a small town on Puget Sound. There are three story lines going on in the book and while all are interesting and it is a quick read, I was three fourths finished with the book wondering how this was was going to be answered in the few pages that were left. The last few chapters felt rushed and neatly wrapped up and did not completely satisfy all of the story lines. The environmental information on orcas is very enlightening, the horrific abuse endured by Alex is difficult to read and understand how someone could let themselves take that as long as she did and the story line of the haunted houses and ghosts were left somewhat dangling at the end.
