The Whisperer in Darkness by H.P. Lovecraft

4.0

Chilling! The depiction of the cosmos and Lovecraft's linking it to contemporary scientific discovery was thrilling. The ending in its suspense was sickening and poses a lot of interesting questions about Lovecraft's presentation of the Other. It was very engaging overall; I felt perhaps the pacing wasn't as gripping in the rising action? Still, one of my favourites (though I seem to say this after every Lovecraft short story/ novella I read). His writing has such a distinct atmosphere.
