This book gave me mixed feelings from the very beginning. I honestly almost didn't finish it. I nearly stopped in the middle of chapter 2 but I pushed through.
I will start with what I didn't like. This book made me very uncomfortable due to the fact that Maya was gay. I don't agree with this so I really didn't want to read it and there was not warning before reading it. But since it was not a romance novel, I finished the book. The other thing I did not like was all the cursing. This is something that I don't like to hear or read but it was all over this book.
But I did like some things. I really liked the story of these kids getting back together and being one big family. The story developed very smoothly and they all grew as the book went. I also really loved the book cover!!! It is what got me interested in reading it.
Overall, it was a pretty good book. If you are ok with gay relationships and cursing, you will like it even more than me. But still a good story minus those things.
