This book might have been inspired by The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, but it's not nearly as good. Despite the title, the book is not set in Paris and most of the plot has nothing to do with the main character being a dressmaker. It's a historical fiction romance novel with a main character attempting to be a girlboss while constantly being overpowered and puppeteered by men in her life. While The Dressmaker of Paris is an emotionally charged novel and a real tear-jerker, the writer decided to exclude major events from the plot. The death of one important character and the MC's reunion with a family member were glossed over. The story mostly focused on MC's marriages, which I wasn't a big fan of. I honestly thought this book would contain more details about her starting her own clothing company. Quelle déception
