Enjoy a tale of magical realism; as three women approach menopause, latent abilities make themselves known. The murders of several young teenaged girls bring the three together, as they attempt to solve the crimes and find justice when no one else is interested.

I appreciated the female friendship, rage, and empowerment throughout the story. However, some aspects were just a little too ridiculous/on the nose (very small spoiler:
SpoilerJo's hot flashes are part of her powers?
and a slightly larger one
Spoiler: Harriet, being Mother Earth, can control literally everything??
). This book was fairly long, over 15 hours, and the first half dragged at times as we were introduced to the cast of characters and learned about the island. Additionally, with the content I felt like I had to break it up/couldn't listen to large chunks at a time. All in all, I enjoyed this, but I wouldn't read it again.
