The Sorcerer of the North by John Flanagan

adventurous lighthearted medium-paced

2.0

Probably the weakest of the series. I thought the time skip was an interesting plot point that worked pretty well, but other than that this installment didn’t have much going for it.

My main problem is that this felt like half of a story. Maybe I’m just too used to George R.R. Martin books, but it didn’t feel like there was enough plot to justify a whole book. I felt the same way about book 3 in this series, though, and book 4 definitely delivered the rest of that story. I’m hoping it’ll be the same case when I get into book 6.
