This book was a bit boring to get through at times but wow the last paragraph is 👌 definitely like waking up from a weird dream to finish it. I understand that the main theme is time moving in a circle and the same sort of things happening again and again, but I had to check the family tree so many times to remember who is who and who did what however many decades/pages ago, made worse because of how they use the same few names for everyone. (I never want to see the name Aureliano again.) I don’t really like this magical realism style either. It’s a very unique book, not like anything else, so you should probably try it for that reason.Â
