Hero by Rhonda Byrne

I've heard all about these books over the years and I finally decided that now would be as good as time as ever to start reading one.

I had no idea what to expect from this novel, having never read a novel of this genre, and went in only knowing that a hero lay within me.

I was not impressed for the first 1/2 of the novel, as the information contained within was nothing short of everyday knowledge given to me by my mother and father; nothing that "awoke my soul" and made me question life, the universe, and everything.

The second half of the novel is where it took off and I felt myself taking the topics(?)and applying the knowledge to my life - with a book like this I think it's impossible not too. One thing I truly appreciated was that the book left out the adage "complete guide to finding your passion" novelty, complete with a Pro an con chart and Self-Survey. Instead it relied on the reader to savor the knowledge within the pages and apply it to his/her own life in a way that best suits them. It asked us to take baby steps and not find "here and now" solutions.

Over the course of the book I felt more and more inclined to believe the words and knowledge being passed to me and have since started applying it to my life.

I recommend this book, even if to just give you a different viewpoint on life; very refreshing read. :)
