I only finished this book because I hate DNF’ing books. But good god, this book felt so unnecessarily long. Also all Quaker and God stuff got to be too much as the book went on. But seriously, this book was just depressing with unnecessary detail about dog deaths and I didn’t find the ending to even be uplifting or impactful. It felt like a book written by someone who only ever wanted to write one book so they included every single reflective thought they’ve ever had of love, life, death, and grief and it didn’t feel cohesive. Basically I think this book could’ve been cut in half and it would’ve been much more enjoyable.
Graphic: Animal cruelty, Murder, Suicide, Rape, and Animal death
