After the Quake by Haruki Murakami
3.0
After the Quake is a marvelous little book. Each short-story within is haunting, powerful, and fully captures that peculiar essence which pervades Murakami's longer stories.
It's something I would recommend to readers who are interested in testing out Murakami yet hesitant to start his other works out of concern to the amount of time they would take to complete. Consider this a quick-and-dirty introduction, of sorts. The only thing it lacked was an abundance of cats.
