Why on earth did I decide to read this book? And why did I not DNF it? What am I doing with my time? These are just some of the questions that plagued me while I was reading this waste of words called a book. Not that it’s bad, just that it’s…unnecessary. No no, it’s also definitely bad.

I was always uninterested in whiny little Gabriel, but instead of maturing over the couple years since we met these people last, he instead crossed all limits of stupidity in this one. He’s like a 12 year old throwing tantrums and crying for his toy and it grates on the last nerve. He also thinks he’s hot and smart shit but goes and makes the stupidest decision at the first moment possible, putting his entire family in danger. He behaves like a child but oh he’s mature enough to have kinky sex. Barf. It’s not even hot. A pierced dick does not chemistry make. It’s bad when you want one of the main characters to be killed off. I was really rooting for that. Harsh but it would be better for all mankind.

Of course, Iris decides to one up them all in the stupidity stakes immediately and makes everything worse. Yay for us. Shoot me now. At least due to that we meet the new guy. I would trade new guy for idiot Gabe in a heartbeat, because at least they have sparks and he has a brain. However, the speed at which Iris gets horny for new guy emphasizes the fact that her relationship with these men and especially Gabe is founded on sex alone, and even that doesn’t read sexy. Not slut shaming, but if it’s that easy for her to be into this new guy she should seriously reconsider her life choices. Gabe of course is a worthless piece of trash who can barely see beyond forcibly grabbing Iris by the 🐱 and has the loyalty of a starving piglet.

Also for a family of trained assassins (ROFLMAO), these people are so bad at planning and execution it’s laughable. And they have the audacity to be surprised when they fail epically. A school going child could tell them that. If I were Iris, I’d run away with the new guy and drop those 3 idiots like hot potatoes. But then she’s stupid too. I don’t expect reality in my books but please an ounce of common sense would be nice. It makes me angry that it’s all so stupid and I can’t even think of words other than stupid because of all the IQ points I lost thanks to this book! No actually what makes me angry is that I didn’t DNF this thing when I realized how this was going to go within the first few pages. I realize this review is way harsh, I rarely go this hard in my reviews, but my wrath is real. Seriously the cover was the best part of the book. And it redeemed itself slightly at the end when the unnecessary “action plot” was done, but by then it was too late for redemption for me.
