One In Three by Tess Stimson
3.0
While fun and fast-paced, One in Three felt very much like a run-of-the-mill domestic thriller. It didn't feel especially dark or twisty, and much of the darkness that we do get feels half-baked
I consider myself to be someone who can easily suspend disbelief for the sake of a book, but the fact that *nobody* in their lives feels a need to step in and mediate the boiling nastiness between the two wives doesn't feel genuine. With a cast of characters of this size, I just cannot believe that not a single person felt that things had gone far enough to intervene.
As for the murderer's reveal? I wasn't particularly stunned, but it was a fine ending nonetheless.
The writing is solid, and it moves quickly for a book of this size, but it just isn't anything to write home about. If you're new to the genre, you'll likely find it to be more than suitable.
