I read this as it was in my bookswap and I wanted to see if there was much difference to the tv show.

Hannah Baker commits suicide and before doing so she records 13 tapes that detail why she killed herself. These tapes are about specific people who she has interaction with at points in her life and in some way, in her opinion, ‘contributed’ to her death.

The book is set up in an easy to read way with each chapter being dedicated to a tape and person. I felt the same way about this book as I did about the tv show, it was harsh. Some of the characters were not nice people, specifically Bryce and he would of deserved his tape being listened too by all and everyone, but I’m not sure every person deserved it. To be placed the blame of a persons death.

The book was swift and some areas of the book differ to the tv show for sure. The scenes with Bryce were definitely less graphic in the book than the tv show.
