Pole Dance by J.A. Hornbuckle
5.0
4-1/2 Stars
LOVED this book! The characters are well developed, Jake is hot, the storyline has a little bit of everything--a likeable heroine, awesome girlfriends, suspense, LOTS of steam, some dirty take and oh yeah...Jake is HOT!! Some have complained/commented that the writing is too much like Kristen Ashley's because the author is a fan of K.A.'s and because of the way Jake speaks. While it's obvious that K.A. could possibly have had a certain influence, if you read the author's blog, you'll see how she came up with her "Jake-speak" and it was NOT from K.A. I hate that Ms. Hornbuckle is getting a few points/stars deducted here and there because of similarities between the way Jake talks and the way K.A.'s heroes talk, because there are certain men out there that do speak that way and one author shouldn't have the market cornered on it. The storyline was original and very well written, and I can't wait for the next book, Tap Dance, to come out! This is my kind of series!
Oh--two slight things I did not enjoy. Referencing the female anatomy as "pink parts" and the nickname "pretty girl". Pink parts was not at all sexy to me and pretty girl sounded like he was talking to a child.
