Mystery Man by Colin Bateman

3.0

I liked a lot of this book. The main character is a neurotic, hypochondriac, and a racist. The last trait was generally well managed. I was drawn quickly into the world of No Alibis. I read the book quite quickly – which is a sign that I got into it. The story starts with two small episodes, one of which is used later. I also liked the idea of the reluctant private eye being drawn into the world by circumstance. When the going starts getting tough our Mystery Man tries to get out. It is his partner, and girlfriend Alison, who keeps him on the case. To do carry-on, of course, and the do solve the mystery.
