With how hyped this series is I was expecting big things and I was a bit disappointed. The world building was decent and the magic system(s?) was interesting. My biggest issue with this book is if you’ve read a lot of fantasy it’s a bit predictable. I will read the next book as I enjoyed Schwab’s writing but I hope it’ll be more surprising.
