Don't You Cry by Mary Kubica

WHY

Dear Quinn
You're a grown fucking woman. Please realize that.

This book was soooooo repetitive. I read about Quinn being baffled at new revelations about Esther and repeating them over and over and OVER again so many times! WE GET IT! You don't know your roommate at all, you're in love with a coworker who's already in a relationship (ew go away) and you just cannot decide how you feel about anything.

And Alex. Has there ever been a more boring character in a book EVER? Yeah, he's apparently "smart" but all I read was him making googly eyes at some random stranger and bringing said stranger sweatshirts and kerosene heaters although he didn't even know her NAME!

The ending was whatever. I guess it would have been more impactful if I'd actually cared about or liked any of the character in this book (which I didn't, including the always-supportive-always-there-lies-to-his-girlfriend BEN you jerk) but I honestly couldn't muster any positive emotion by that point.

After "The Good Girl," which I enjoyed MUCH more, this was just a huge disappointment. I don't think I'll be reading anything by this author again.
