Creed & Demi: I Loved Them Both with All My Insides! 5 Stars!
I was introduced and fell in love with the magically eclectic locale known as Shallow Cove in Eternally Damned. But, if you thought Shallow Cove itself was strange and dark, you haven't seen anything yet. Oh yes, it gets even darker.
HONEYSUCKLES is the first Book from the Shallow Cove Dark Dimensions series. Same fantastical town, same mystical shenanigans. Our story begins with Creed Blackstone, an everyday "Average Joe", in the wrong place at the wrong time. Unfortunately, he's kidnapped off the street and finds himself trapped in a nightmare, forced to endure painful, inhumane, scientific experiments. By its end, he is left as less of a man but, something "more". With his newfound primal instincts, he's led to a small diner where he becomes instantly smitten with its young, beautiful owner. Alarmingly, Creed's adoration of her is to the point of obsession.
Enter: Demi, a sweet, small-town girl who owns a diner in Shallow Cove. A mysterious stranger appears in her diner that she is instantly curious about him. She has no idea why she is so drawn to Creed and his darkness. All she knows is that she feels a connection to him. As she tries to understand her fascination with him, very strange incidents begin to occur and Demi finds herself, her diner, and her reputation in Shallow Cove at risk.
This book was absolutely fantastic! Author January Rayne has struck gold with these two complex characters who appear to be polar opposites but have magnetic energy every time they appear on page together. While reading, this book took me through a myriad of motions. The plot was engaging, suspenseful, steamy, and at some points absolutely shocking. The spice level is through the roof to where I'd give it a 4 out of 5. *whew*... I have no idea where Ms. Rayne gets her naughty inspiration from but, please... do keep them coming! (no pun intended) Ha!
This book not only made my "lady parts" weep, but my eyes as well. Yes, I cried. Not ashamed of it and when you reach the books end, I'm sure you will too! Don't worry! These will be happy tears, I promise! I implore you to check the triggers before reading this book. I went in blind and I'm glad I did, it added to the shock factor!
This is a book is an excellent start into something amazing! I hope we receive more books from the Dark Dimensions line. I will definitely read HONEYSUCKLES again and again, as I fell in love with Creed and Demi!
I hope that we get to visit with them again the next time we are invited back to Shallow Cove!
