Words cannot describe how much I needed this book, nor how much I loved it!
Light-hearted, fun, tender, tense, everything you would want in a romantic comedy. I am somewhat late to the party I imagine as I've seen many conversations on social media about this book.
Firstly, the typical contrasts between the small, sweet Lucinda and the tall, muscular Joshua were as expected. As typical as they are, it's exactly what you need in this type of story. The personalities of each we're made unique by the small intricacies which are revealed as the story goes on and the jousting with words gave each character their own distinct voice.
Now I love a book with a bit of spice to it, but good lord was I waiting. I loved the way @sallythorneauthor kept the games going and how each one got saucier. How she gave Joshua the strength to turn away on some of those steamy occasions blew my mind. I could have screamed 😂. Saying that, the slow pace of the romance is what made me sit, curled into a tiny space, bringing the book closer and closer to my face, attempting to block out the rest of the world until I was completely and utterly absorbed by each fraction of movement made by each person. Gosh, I cannot say how much I wanted to be Lucy in this book.
For me, this book was a true tale of hot and cold feelings. The splitting comments, the lust, the games, they were all such a good way of giving these two characters permission to do the things the reader is begging them to do. Each tiny moment was amplified and every small gesture was intensified. I just loved it.
I would 100% recommend this book, in fact, 1000%. Anyone (of adult age) would enjoy this as a light-hearted read. I would say it's quite a quick book to go through as you just can't wait for the next moment of...weakness? Liberation? Whatever you call it, you know it's only round the corner. You just have to keep reading for the next part.
Now, please excuse me while I purchase the physical copy because the ebook is just not enough!
