A Duke for Diana by Sabrina Jeffries

5.0

First of all, I must confess that I read this out of order (after the second book of the series), but each book makes for a good standalone, so it wasn’t a problem. And I loved this book as much as the other one, if not even more!. I particularly loved the relationship between the sisters, because they are very different, but they love and respect each other and their mutual differences. And I found the insights on preparing a girl’s debut very interesting, especially all the fashion details and the food!
I adored the hero, an accidental duke with a profession who understands the value of money and occasionally blunders in Society. And Diana is a force of nature, smart and strong and passionate. Their chemistry is over the top and their banter conveys all their feelings for each other. The writing is perfection and I even cried at the end (oh my, that letter!) because everything felt so real! I can’t wait for Verity’s book, because this Phantom Fellow who follows her everywhere is really, really intriguing…
Finally, I can’t recommend the audiobook enough! The narrator is so very very good!
