I was really excited about this book because Envy was my favorite in the Kingdom of the Wicked series. Overall, it was... fine. The ending definitely brought the rating up for me. I didn't love it as much as I wanted to, and I'm still puzzling out exactly why that is. I think I just wanted more character depth, especially since it was teased in the original trilogy. I wanted to dive deeper into Envy's perspective and past hurt, as well as how he overcame it, but having half the book from Camilla's perspective seemed to take away from the depth we could have gotten from him. It also took away from some of the reveals. I also really didn't feel their connection beyond their lust. I think this would have benefitted from being a duology, with the last 90 pages being a longer plot in a second book because there was a lot of potential there.
