Have to give it a lower rating than I want to. It has potential to be great but I felt it gets very odd in terms of what sets off one of the main character’s motivation to turn into a creep villain, even if they may not want to be. I feel like it could have gone a different direction bc it almost completely threw me off of wanting to root for them as a couple. I was also craving more from other interesting characters and their relationships with the main characters but felt it fell a Little short at times.
The ending sweetened the middle for me, though. I also recommend you look at the author’s playlist, especially for the New Year’s Eve scene. It makes the moment you read it fantastic, especially if you really visualize as a reader. The song is fantastic and I couldn’t get enough.
