Two Girls of Gettysburg by Lisa M. Klein

4.0

I really enjoyed this young adult novel about the events that led up to Gettysburg. I only wish this was written before my family went to the battlefield in high school... I probably would have understood gads more. I like the telling from the girls' perspectives. A story of deep friendship that was split by their loyalty to different sides and how the war cost much more than supplies and men and led to the growth of two fine young ladies.

I would have given this 5 stars if it was a tidge bit faster paced. If you would like a girl to understand the events of Gettysburg... have her read this. Great for school teachers as a supplemental reading. Her history is accurate and has great true life characters scattered through out the book. :)
