Dragon Staff by Sarah K.L. Wilson

5.0

Dragon Tide: Dragon Staff by Sarah K.L. Wilson is the continuation of Seleska’s story. Prepare to be quickly pulled back into this story as the author picks up where Dragon Tide: Dragonlet left off. Seleska has some hard choices a head of her, and danger is not done hunting her as she will soon quickly understand.
Dragon Tide: Dragon Staff picks up where book left off and Seleska’s adventures continue. As expected the author shows readers that Seleska’s village isn’t going to be accepting of her small dragon friend. It’s sad in light of the fact that it was because of her calling to Nasataa that the mercenary ship was destroyed in the first place. With Nasataa growing daily, the villagers against him being kept there and left alive, Seleska must make a choice to leave inorder to keep him safe. I love that the adventure only picks up from there for her. It seems that Seleska ends up in one bad situation after another, but there are good moments throughout as well.
I like that in this book the author takes readers away from Seleska’s tiny island that she has called home for over ten years. The author hints at danger with a revelation near the beginning of the story, but true danger makes an appearance shortly after Seleska leaves. The author does a fantastic job weaving in the unexpected into this book. For those who are familiar with this author's other dragon series and understand the connections between dragon and rider, there is a heart-rending moment in this book.
There honestly isn’t anything that I can complain about concerning this book. The story flows excellently, keeps me captivated from beginning to end, and leaves me wanting more at the end. I am looking forward to the next book in this series/serial.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. You get a nice balance of humor, danger, thrills, and a nice taste of revelation in this story as well to bring it all together. If you have read the previous books then I highly recommend that you grab this book and dive back into the story and find out what happens next.
