My Work by Olga Ravn
4.0
In the same family as a ghost in the throat, memoir/lyrical essay about mothering, body horror of pregnancy and nursing, humanity and wholeness alongside parenthood and the ultimate absorption into another being, the inherent (primal) unfairness of parenthood in patriarchy. The red room of the body. These are worthwhile paths to walk. I want to hear many people conceptualize themselves through the drastic adjustment to pregnancy and delivery and motherhood. I especially want to hear about it from writers, who become themselves through their work.
